Oct. 23, 2020 – Last night was the second and final debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden. While many are praising the debate participants for a particularly vigorous exchange – in direct contrast to the first time they came together – I do find it disappointing that America’s infrastructure was not on the agenda. Yes, the big issues that were discussed were important. But I wanted to hear something, anything, about rebuilding America. Unfortunately, the only passing reference was when Biden blamed Trump for doing nothing about infrastructure for four years. That same accusation could be levelled at the Senate, which has sat on its infrastructure bill since it was voted out of committee in July 2019. I was hoping this entire presidential race could have been more focused on infrastructure – the one bipartisan issue that everyone seems to agree with. But that appears to be too much to ask of Washington these days. There’s no debating that.
