Atlas Copco launched its XAS 90 air compressor, which is a cost-effective option for utility and pneumatic-tool applications demanding as much as 88 cu. ft. per minute of air power. The compressor keeps cost of ownership low due to its simple maintenance and minimal fuel consumption.51 AtlasCopco 400

Atlas Copco’s HardHat canopy, which is made of highly durable, weather-resistant polyethylene, protects the compressor’s 24-hp Kubota diesel engine from dust and debris to minimize repairs. The canopy also resists corrosion and fading, contributing to its low cost of ownership and high resale value.

The engine meets Tier 4 Final emission standards without requiring exhaust aftertreatment components or filters, giving the operator maximum uptime between service intervals. The compressor optimizes fuel consumption with its stepless, fully automatic regulator. The regulator continuously adjusts the engine’s speed to accommodate air demand, which allows the operator to maximize productivity between refills.

The compressor’s spillage-free frame contains 100 percent of the unit’s fluids if a leak occurs. This eliminates the risk of accidentally contaminating jobsites and gives the contractor peace of mind on environmentally sensitive projects.

The 1,165-lb. compressor is mounted to a single-axle trailer for maximum portability. The trailer axle can be removed to accommodate a support frame that can be mounted to a truck bed, trailer or any other platform.
The XAS 90’s controls are grouped on a single panel to provide quick, hassle-free operation. Atlas Copco uses similar controls on all of its compressors, which makes it easy for operators to switch between models.

Optional features include wheel chocks, a loose ball coupling and an OSHA-rated valve that automatically shuts off air flow if a surge occurs.
