NSSGA Kicks Off Annual Convention

More than 700 attendees have convened in Nashville for the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s (NSSGA) 2024 Annual Convention. The 2024 meeting, themed “Rock Steady,” will highlight the sustained stability and success of the aggregates industry.

“Our annual conference is important for every NSSGA member. Meeting and sharing ideas helps our industry function efficiently and promotes our collective success,” said NSSGA 2023 Chair Seth Hankowski. “By working together, we have been able to advance solutions to issues affecting each of our businesses.”

The conference, taking place March 23-26, includes committee meetings, breakouts and networking events. The first general session, which included a special message to the industry from Sen. Blackburn (R-Tenn.) and featured surprise guests The Warren Brothers, took place the morning of March 24. A second general session on March 25 will feature awards and a discussion with Rich Thau, president of Engagious, on swing voters and the 2024 election.

Breakout sessions are open for all attendees, focusing on harnessing solar power for the aggregates industry, refugee integration for workforce development and a 2024 political outlook.

Updates from the NSSGA Government and Regulatory Affairs team and multiple receptions will also take place. The NSSGA Annual Board and Membership Meeting will convene on the morning of March 26 with the presentation of the Barry K. Wendt Memorial Commitment Award and a keynote speech from Super Bowl champion Joe Theismann.

“2023 was an excellent year for our association, and I look forward to celebrating our victories with our members in Nashville. It’s also a great time to discuss industry challenges and build momentum for the year ahead,” said NSSGA President & CEO Michael Johnson. “It’s so important for our members to attend their committee meetings and our breakout sessions, as we seek to address issues they face and capitalize on new opportunities.”

Alongside the NSSGA Annual Convention, the AGG1 Academy and Expo will take place March 25-27. This event will provide access to exhibitors and 60 industry-focused programming sessions in four educational tracks. This show is held along with the World of Asphalt, which is produced by the National Asphalt Paving Association and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.

NSSGA members will next convene for official association business in Washington D.C. during the Legislative & Policy Forum, Sept. 24-27. For more information on NSSGA meetings and events please visit www.nssga.org.
