PACA Hires Susan Armstrong

The Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association (PACA) announced that Susan Armstrong has joined the association in a newly formed role as the director of specifications and sustainability.

“The board of directors and staff are excited to have Susan on board,” said PACA board chairperson Jeff Detwiler from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. “With her professional experience and knowledge of the association, we have no doubt she will excel in helping to move the crushed stone, ready mixed concrete, sand and gravel, and cement industries forward.”

In this role, Armstrong will be responsible for improving the residential and commercial market for aggregates, ready mixed concrete, and cement by educating and building relationships with specifiers, owners, developers and contractors by reducing roadblocks created by inefficient and outdated or improper specifications and codes.

Armstrong comes to PACA from the Central Builders Supply Co., where she most recently served as the company’s treasurer. She also worked as an adjunct professor in concrete science technology at Pennsylvania College of Technology while serving on the PACA board of directors, as the concrete technical community chair and representative on the FHWA-PennDOT State Transportation Innovation Council (STIC).

Armstrong received her bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University in business administration/accounting and a master’s in business management from Bucknell University.
