May 6, 2021 – Pleased to give a shout out to Semco’s new publication, North American Mining magazine, which has hired two key industry veterans with significant experience in the mining sector to lead sales and editorial. “Vic Matteucci will head up sales and Donna Schmidt assumes the reins of editor,” stated Peter Johnson, publisher of the magazine. “The staff of North American Mining magazine has a combined experience of more than 100 years of serving the mining industry.”
Vic first started in the mining industry in 1981 with Coal Mining & Processing covering the Midwest territory. He spent three years with this publication and later joined Coal Age and Engineering & Mining Journal in 1997. Over most of the next 23 years, he covered the eastern United States, with the exception of four years where he covered all of North America.
Prior to taking on the editor role for North American Mining, Donna was on the editing team for Mining Magazine, covering global news for gold, copper, nickel, platinum, lithium and other commodities, and was content-development manager for the UK publisher’s content marketing and development division. In addition to serving as North American Mining magazine’s editor, Donna will oversee coverage of the latest from across the mining industry for the Miners News digital news service.
