Oct. 2, 2019 – U.S. Department of Labor Assistant Secretary of Mine Safety and Health David Zatezalo will be the featured speaker at the Lunch with a Lawmaker session of NSSGA’s Legislative & Policy Forum on Nov. 18 in Washington, D.C. Zatezalo, who has led MSHA since 2017, will discuss the importance of keeping our workers safe on the job and the agency’s efforts to prevent death, illness and injury on the work site. Also part of this session, NSSGA will highlight the exemplary aggregates operations and companies with the association’s annual safety awards. The Safety Excellence Awards, originated in 1987, are presented in recognition of individual operations for maintaining a safe workplace, evidenced by its safety performance over a consecutive period of time.
