GCAA Holds Environmental Committee Summit

On May 29, CRH/Midsouth Aggregates hosted the Georgia Construction Aggregate Association (GCAA) Environmental Committee Summit at its U.S. headquarters in Dunwoody, Ga. The group engaged in a roundtable dialogue including federal and state updates. 

Emily Coyner, National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) policy director gave an update on federal issues that are being addressed by NSSGA. Katie Gregory, KBNC Strategies and GCAA environmental consultant, gave a recap of legislative issues in the environmental arena as well as some updates on state initiatives.

Don Williams, Vulcan Materials and GCAA Environmental Committee chairman led a roundtable discussion current issues and quarry site visits by regulatory staff.

After a lunch break, the group was joined by John Eunice, deputy director for the Georgia Environmental Protection Division. Eunice gave an update on issues that the EPD is working on as well as other issues facing Georgia.
