Badger Mining Corp. Acquires Transloading Facility

Badger Mining Corp. (BMC), Berlin, Wis., further committed to the Canadian market with the asset acquisition of Di-Corp’s state-of-the-art transload facility in Sexsmith, Alberta, Canada, located 12 miles north of Grand Prairie, Alberta.

Along with the acquisition, BMC and Di-Corp are working together to execute an immediate expansion of the site, including land purchases and railroad additions, to increase the facility’s capacity as well as to accommodate unit train shipments. Construction of this expansion is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2016 or early 2017.

“This is all part of Badger Mining’s commitment to the Deep Basin,” said Lori Phillippi, BMC Advisory Team associate and third-generation family member. “With this purchase, we are reinforcing our commitment by further deepening our roots, preparing for a rebound in activity, and implementing our plan of establishing the best, fastest and most reliable distribution network in Western Canada.”

Badger Mining will again be working with CN to provide cost-effective and efficient transportation of high-quality industrial sand from Wisconsin to BMC’s operations in Alberta.

“CN is pleased to once more be expanding its successful partnership with Badger Mining,” said Fiona Murray, vice president of industrial products at CN. “The investments we have made in our network, particularly in Wisconsin and Alberta, provide efficient transportation services to partners like Badger Mining and Di-Corp, allowing them to grow their businesses and make these commitments to certain markets.”

The transloading site is one of Badger Mining’s 26 current distribution locations throughout the United States and Canada. Service at the site will be unchanged, as Di-Corp will continue as the transload operator at the facility.
