A judge has dismissed a legal challenge to Winona County, Minn.’s ban on industrial frac sand mining, according to the Lacrosse Tribune.

Property Owners Challenge Minnesota Frac Sand Ban
A group called Southeast Minnesota Property Owners and Roger Dabelstein, a resident of Saratoga Township in Winona County, Minn., filed a lawsuit in the Third Judicial District Court against Winona County over the frac sand ban passed by the county last year, according to the Post-Bulletin.

Winona County, Minn., Attorney Karin Sonneman will advise the County Board later this spring on whether the board has the legal authority to ban new frac sand mines and processing facilities in rural parts of the county, according to the Winona Post.
