The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) joined forces with National Ready Mixed Concrete Association, National Asphalt Pavement Association, Associated General Contractors of America and American Cement Association hosting a congressional staff quarry tour to educate a bipartisan group of staffers about the construction materials industry and the vital work of providing the foundational materials for every infrastructure project.
The event took place at Vulcan Materials Co.’s Graham Quarry in Lorton, Va.
“NSSGA is proud to serve as an effective liaison between lawmakers and our members. Congressional visits to aggregates facilities are one of the most effective ways to showcase our industry,” said NSSGA Interim CEO Michele Stanley. “In-person tours allow members of Congress and their staff to get their boots dirty and experience firsthand the importance of our work while gaining knowledge of specific challenges and issues affecting the aggregates industry. Thank you to everyone who helped facilitate the most recent congressional staff tour of Vulcan Materials Company’s Graham Quarry.”
