May 7, 2025 – Big news came out of the IEEE/PCA Cement Conference in Birmingham, Ala. The Portland Cement Association (PCA) is changing its name to the American Cement Association. President and CEO Mike Ireland announced the move during the conference Insights Session at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center. A brand and logo migration will proceed over the next few months. This is a smart move by the association. It brings the organization up to speed with changing industry dynamics and positions the group with a name more consistent with that of other high-level national associations. Rock Products, Cement Optimized and Concrete Products magazines learned exclusively of the change on May 6, and were at the event to hear the official announcement.
