Industry Leaders Reflect on AGG1

The AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo and World of Asphalt Show & Conference concluded its 2025 event in St. Louis March 25-27, with more than 11,500 industry professionals on hand. Industry leaders talked to Rock Products about the show and what it meant to their respective companies.

“The recently completed AGG1 showed why this is such a popular event,” said Mark Krause, vice president – North America, McLanahan Corp. “It allows time to visit with people and their issues they are looking for answers to. The added floor space allowed for some new vendors especially software and technology providers. The education sessions continue to be a big part of the attraction of AGG1.  You could feel the optimism that still remains within the Aggregate Industry for the remainder of 2025 and beyond. AGG1 delivered as I expected and I look forward to New Orleans in 2027.”

Trey Rollins, director of marketing and inside sales for Polydeck, agreed. “AGG1 is always a great opportunity to connect with current customers and see what is new in the industry. This year, we saw a lot of interest in our METALDEX XPT product, which is an easy-to-install modular wire product that combines the open area of wire cloth with the wear life of synthetic products,” Rollins stated.

Nick Roseto, key account manager, mining, aggregate and cement for Dodge Industrial Inc., said AGG1 2025 “was a great success.”  He stated that, “Original equipment manufacturers, contractors, installers, producers and EPC firms from several countries came through the booth in droves looking for answers to their industry needs: improved safety, longer service life, reduced maintenance and higher efficiencies. The floor space was noticeably bigger than in past years which allowed attendees to spread out and have conversations to help build relationships.”

Roseto also noted the importance of educational seminars. “The education sessions were spot on as always and are a great tool to gain more industry knowledge about new technologies, such as digital sensors in aggregate operations.” he said. “There was an excitement in the air and this industry is ready to break open the production flood gates to help build the needs of country.”

Matthew Lepp, technical account sales manager – heavy industry for VDG, was excited to participate in AGG1 2025 a well. “We were able to reconnect with many long-time industry partners as well as several exciting new opportunities,” he said. “It has left us looking optimistically towards the rest of the year and into 2026, with continued industry growth both here in the United States and abroad.”

“AGG1 is always one of our favorite events,” said Julie Andras, Haver & Boecker Niagara director of marketing. “For this edition, we flexed our muscles by showcasing a full-size Niagara F-Class Portable Plant in our booth. Visitors to the booth really enjoyed the birds-eye view of the show floor from the catwalk, making it a real showstopper. The portable plant sparked deeper conversations about our equipment, media, liners and diagnostic solutions. The attendees we talked to provided us with plenty of positive feedback as they learned how our end-to-end solutions can benefit their quarry operations. The quality of conversations was exceptional, which is one of the many reasons we love coming to AGG1.”

“AGG1 was a great experience,” said Josh Swank, Philippi-Hagenbuch chief growth officer. “We found there was strong overall interest and engagement from attendees, and we had some great conversations with producers in our booth. This is exactly what you want from an event like this. Plenty of business is done virtually by phone or email in today’s world, but there is something to be said for the value of connecting with producers in person and having that face-to-face conversation. Those interactions are one of the many reasons we look forward to AGG1 each year it is held, and we’re excited for the next one in 2027.”

After a year off for ConExpo-Con/Agg in 2026, AGG1/World of Asphalt convenes in New Orleans in 2027.
