Armada Materials Acquires Drake’s Creek Stone

Armada Materials LLC, a producer of aggregates, asphalt and other infrastructure materials and services, has acquired its newest operation, Drake’s Creek Stone, in Franklin, Ky.  The quarry, formerly part of Charles DeWeese Construction, expands Armada’s aggregates business in one of the fastest growing regions in the United States.

Located near I-65, between Nashville, Tenn., and Bowling Green, Ky., Drake’s Creek Stone is well positioned to serve the growing demand for aggregates in the Southern Kentucky / Northern Tennessee region. The quarry provides a wide range of high-quality crushed stone products.

“We are thrilled to expand our footprint in Kentucky with the acquisition of Drake’s Creek Stone,” said Rob Duke, CEO of Armada Materials.  “I’m also pleased to welcome Bill Garske as General Sales Manager of Drake’s Creek Stone.  As the former owner of BG Concrete, and with prior leadership roles in the construction materials industry, Bill brings significant experience to help grow our business in Kentucky”

“I’m very excited to be part of Drake’s Creek Stone,” commented Garske. “We have a tremendous opportunity in south-central Kentucky, and I look forward to working closely with customers, employees and community leaders to make a positive impact in the local region.”

Armada, based in Tampa, Fla., was formed to build a leading infrastructure materials and services business through strategic acquisitions. Armada was founded by Rob Duke, along with a group of investors including several industry veterans, and Kelso & Company, L.P., a middle-market private equity firm founded in 1980 on the principles of partnership and alignment of interests.
