Georgia Legislative Update

Jan. 30, 2025 – According to the Georgia Construction Aggregate Association, the Georgia General Assembly has completed 8 of 40 legislative days. Gov. Kemp has proposed a FYA 2025 state budget of $40.5 billion and a FY 2026 budget of $37.7 billion. The governor has proposed adding a billion dollars for infrastructure spending to GDoT’s budget including $350 million for the state’s freight and logistics network, $250 million for the LMIG grant program to local governments, $250 million for water and sewage improvement, $60 million for the infrastructure bank program, $98 million to replace revenue lost by the motor fuel excise tax suspension during Hurricane Helene and $225 million for debris removal, infrastructure repair and sign replacement expenses incurred from Hurricane Helene.
