Rogers Group Names Patton President and CEO

Board Chairman Ben L. Rechter of Rogers Group Inc., the nation’s largest privately-held aggregate producer and a major roadway contractor, announced the appointment of James (Jimmy) A. Patton as the company’s new president and chief executive officer. Patton’s selection follows an extensive national search that considered both external and internal candidates.

Patton has more than 29 years with Rogers Group and has served the last 14 years as chief financial officer. Over the last 16 months, Patton has served as Interim CEO, while the company continued to experience industry leading safety results, operational success and new growth initiatives under his leadership.

Patton’s career has evolved through a series of financial roles within the company. As president and CEO, effective immediately, he will spearhead strategic initiatives aimed at driving national growth through organizational enhancement and expansion.

Patton holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Belmont University and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.

Commenting on the appointment, Rechter stated, “Jimmy has an in-depth knowledge of Rogers Group and a legacy of success in the aggregates and highway construction industry. His background is driving financial success through safety and operational excellence.”

Darin M. Matson, who had served in various leadership roles at Rogers Group Inc. over the past 25 years and had been president and CEO for the last seven years, resigned to pave the way for new leadership, an announcement that was made in July 2024.
