SRM Materials has acquired a granite quarry site from North Georgia Aggregates in Elberton, Ga.
SRM Materials President Ryan Hollingshead stated, “We’re excited to get this quarry fully operational and part of the SRM family. This location fills in a service gap for SRM Materials allowing us to better serve our customers.”
The site was established in the 1950s as a granite monument site and became an aggregate crushing site in 2011.
Born out of a need to supply SRM Concrete plants with quality aggregates, the materials division produces and supplies limestone, granite, river rock and sand products.
Established in 1999 by Mike and Melissa Hollingshead in Smyrna, Tenn., the family-owned company owns and operates an expansive network of ready-mix concrete plants, quarries, cement terminals and other ancillary services across 19 states.
