NSSGA Congratulates Community Relations Excellence Winners

The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) revealed its 2024 Community Relations Excellence winners, as well as its Stars of Excellence awards, at the annual NSSGA Legislative & Policy Forum in Washington, D.C., Sept. 24-27.

The Community Relations Excellence Awards recognize aggregates producers for their generous contributions to their communities and their work enhancing public perception of their individual operations and the entire industry.

This year, NSSGA saw yet another increase in the number of award applications and recognized 10 Gold, 12 Silver and 72 Bronze winners. Vulcan Materials Co.’s Chula Vista Stone was the highest-scoring application and thus named the Platinum award winner.

“The Community Relations awards highlight the importance our industry places on being a good neighbor,” said NSSGA President and CEO Michael Johnson. “Building and maintaining strong relationships with the community lays the foundation for our members’ success and growth. I’m honored to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of today’s winners.”

Additionally, Cemex’s FEC Quarry, Holcim’s Marblehead Quarry and Martin Marietta’s Hatton and Onslow Quarries were recognized as Stars of Excellence winners. This award is presented to an operation with multiple Gold Awards in Safety, Community Relations or Environmental Excellence within five years.
