The Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association (PACA) announced Megan Dennis has joined the association as its new director of environmental, safety and health.

In this role, Dennis will offer strategic guidance on environmental, safety and health regulations, as well as provide educational support to PACA members regarding state and federal acts, statutes and regulations, and on agencies’ initiatives that affect the crushed stone, ready mixed concrete, sand and gravel, and cement industries. Additionally, Ms. Dennis will foster collaboration to advance statewide policies and regulations that promote the interests of these industries.

“We are excited to welcome Megan to the PACA staff,” said PACA board chairperson Jeff Detwiler of New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. Inc. “Her extensive background in environmental compliance and active involvement in the association make her an excellent fit for this key role, especially as the association grows its presence throughout the commonwealth.”

Dennis has been actively engaged with PACA through the Young Leaders Development Group (YLDG) and the Environmental Community. She is also a graduate of the inaugural PACA Emerging Leaders Academy (PELA), further demonstrating her commitment to the industry and her leadership potential.

Dennis comes to the association with more than 12 years of experience, most recently as a senior scientist at Skelly and Loy, a Terracon company. In that role she focused her efforts on coordinating Federal Section 404 of the Clean Water Act permitting and Pennsylvania Chapter 105 permitting by integrating engineering and environmental services, training in jurisdictional wetland identification, data management, threatened and endangered species studies, and the preparation of NEPA documentation.
