M.J. O’Brien Jr., president and CEO of Salem Stone Corp. Group, has announced that Michael D. Greer, currently vice president of operations, will be assuming the role of president and chief executive officer.
O’Brien will retain certain duties for an unspecified future time to assist in a seamless transition. He has guided the company through several major acquisitions and growth since 2000 when he assumed the role of president.
O’Brien is a 1962 graduate of Georgetown University and proudly served his country as a United States Naval Officer. His career has spanned mining and construction equipment sales and executive oversight of several aggregate operations, culminating in the last 30 years at Salem Stone.
Greer has been actively engaged in the mining industry for more than 35 years and has successfully mastered areas of increasing responsibility, profitability, production and employee development. He will bring vitality and experience to continue to elevate Salem Stone’s commitment to people, community, environment and diversity.
Salem Stone Corp. was founded by Leonard Douglas Hill in the 195’s and his commitment to the “unfailing principles of hard work, honesty, integrity and service to fellow men” are still the cornerstones of Salem Stone Corp.’s principles, the company stated.
