“More than 1,100 industry leaders gathered in Las Vegas for the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association’s (NSSGA) 2023 Joint Annual Convention. This event occurs every three years and includes collaborative programming with the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) and the Portland Cement Association (PCA). The 2023 meeting theme of Building the Future Together, focuses on the unity among the industries and the shared policy issues.
“This meeting is a valuable time for our association members to meet, network and learn about our industries’ work and priorities. Over the past three years, we have seen that working together creates innovative solutions,” said NSSGA Board Chair Karen Hubacz, Bond Construction. “Though this joint meeting only occurs once every three years, it is evident that the staff of our associations talk and collaborate regularly throughout the year, which is a value-add for every member.”
This week, NSSGA will hold committee meetings; breakouts on workforce development, sustainability and rail; as well as the annual membership and board meeting. Additionally, the agenda features joint receptions and a general session with the three associations. The keynote speaker will be Cal Ripken, Jr. who will share his insights from his long-standing baseball career and business successes.
“This event is essential for our three associations to gather and discuss our shared priority issues, so we can take the aggregates and materials industries to the next level,” said NSSGA President and CEO, Michael Johnson. “Our recent achievements in Washington are a testament to the hard work and advocacy efforts of our association staff and our members. Thank you to every member who is attending this event and actively participating with NSSGA throughout the year.”
NSSGA also revealed the winners of the 2022 ROCKtober photo contest by showcasing the winning photos in the Annual Convention hallways.
