The Mount Group, Berlin, N.J., announced the launch of Pocono Sand & Stone, the newest edition to the Mount Group family of companies. The move follows the acquisition of the assets of Edwards Sand & Gravel, South Sterling, Pa.
According to Dave Smith, CEO, prior to the sale, Edwards Sand & Gravel successfully provided high quality aggregates in the Pennsylvania market for 50 Years. Now, Pocono Sand & Stone will continue that rich tradition and simultaneously invest significant resources in the operations to expand its services into the New York and New Jersey markets.
“The Mount Group’s continued success and commitment to growth, both organic and through acquisition, can only be attributed to the hard-working team of people who make it happen every day,” Smith said.
The Mount Group also owns Harleysville Materials, one of the oldest argillite quarries in Montgomery County, Pa.; and Mount Materials, a full-service recycling operation taking in concrete, asphalt, fill material and any class B materials in the Keystone Industrial Port Complex in Fairless Hills, Pa.
