Nov. 16, 2022 – Rock Products’ Managing Editor Josephine Patterson is attending this year’s Quarry Academy. This is the 16th edition of the Quarry Academy, a three-day educational seminar that looks at the full production stream of quarry operations. Put on by Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions and Dyno Nobel, the event sold out this year with 151 registrations – 20% more than 2021 – from people all over the world. Attendees take part in 15 courses throughout the event ranging from Process Improvement to Fragmentation Management for the Downstream Value Chain to Analytics & Business Intelligence. On top of the courses, attendees have the choice of attending different workshops as well as drill and load & haul simulator activities. The Quarry Academy wraps up on Thursday with a tour of the CEMEX Balcones Quarry and a blasting demonstration.
