Performance Proppants is in the final stages of constructing its Sunny Point facility in Louisiana, which is a joint partnership between the company and Caddo-Bossier Port. The plant is on a large privately owned 700-acre oxbow lake off the Red River that contains 45 million tons of frac sand reserves.
The company reported that silos are now going vertical at the facility. Sunny Point will deliver 3 million tpy of premium regional proppant into the Haynesville Shale. The facility is on schedule to have sand in the silos in December.
Performance Proppants’ President Bill Bowdon said, “The Sunny Point project, can serve nearly every operator in the basin. The Haynesville Shale continues to prove its resilience and stability when compared to other basins.”
