The Weir Group PLC has appointed Sam Palombo as director of comminution for North America.
Palombo holds an MBA from the University of Strathclyde and has spent eight years with Weir Minerals, having served as the general manager of comminution for North America.
He has held many senior leadership positions during his more than 20 year career in the mining, industrial and aggregate industries. Most recently, Palombo served as the vice president of mining & industrial at the Derrick Corp.
Palombo is based out of Mississauga, Canada, and will be responsible for driving the region’s Comminution business growth. His expertise in crushing, grinding and separation technologies, combined with a long history of demonstrating effective leadership toward business strategy, makes him well-positioned for this role, Weir stated.
