Source Energy Services Makes Executive Appointment

Brad Thomson has elected to retire as president and chief executive officer and as a director of Source Energy Services Ltd. Scott Melbourn has been appointed president and chief executive officer and will be appointed as a member of the board.

Thomson will continue in an advisory role until June 30, 2022, to ensure a seamless transition of duties and responsibilities to Melbourn.

“The board would like to thank Mr. Thomson for his leadership and contributions since joining the company in 2012. Mr. Thomson led the company from its early financing and growth of its asset base through its initial public offering in April, 2017. Under his leadership, Source grew from a small regional provider of trucking and terminal services to an industry-leading, fully integrated provider of frac sand and associated logistics,” the company stated.

Melbourn, currently the chief operating officer, has been with Source since 2011 and has been responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operations, sales and business development. He has a deep understanding of the company’s operations and, as a part of Source’s executive team, helped grow the business into what it is today.

The board said it has full confidence that, under the leadership of Melbourn and other members of the senior leadership team, the company will continue to expand its offerings and capitalize on its leading market position in the Western Canadian sedimentary basin.

Source is a company that focuses on the production and distribution of high-quality Northern White frac sand as well as the distribution of other bulk completion materials not produced by Source.

Source provides its customers with an end-to-end solution for frac sand supported by its Wisconsin mines and processing facilities, its Western Canadian terminal network, its last-mile logistics capabilities, and Sahara, a proprietary well site mobile sand storage and handling system.
