Missouri Producers Honored for Safety at Convention

The Missouri Limestone Producers Association (MLPA) held its annual convention Dec. 1-3 at Margaritaville Lake Resort in Osage Beach, Mo. The event featured 341 attendees, 37 booths, and 9 hospitality rooms. 

The association named Con-Agg Companies’ Boone Quarries and Mid-Missouri Limestone to its Safety Honor Roll Awards. The award honors producers with the the top safety sites in Missouri, and both companies achieved multiple awards for their operations, including:

  • Consecutive-Year Honor Roll Award (23 years) – Boone Quarries (West Quarry, Columbia, Mo.)
  • Consecutive-Year Honor Roll Award (10 years) – Boone Quarries (Sedalia, Mo.)
  • Consecutive-Year Honor Roll Award (7 years) – Boone Quarries (Huntsville, Mo.)
  • Consecutive-Year Honor Roll Award (5 years) – Boone Quarries (Boonville, Mo.)
  • Consecutive-Year Honor Roll Award (5 years) – Boone Quarries (Marshall, Mo.)
  • Safety Honor Roll Award for No Lost Time 2020 — Boone Quarries (Boonville, East, Huntsville, Jefferson City, Marshall, Millersburg, Riggs, Sedalia, Tipton, West) and Mid-Missouri Limestone (Auxvasse, Big Springs, Reform, New Haven, and Westphalia).

“MLPA members like Boone Quarries and Mid-Missouri Limestone are critical to crushed stone production in our state and for our country,” said MLPA Executive Director Dan Kleinsorge. “Operating with No Lost Time incidents and decades of years on the honor roll is a significant accomplishment and we are proud to honor those companies like Boone who place the highest emphasis on worker safety. Missouri limestone goes to our roads, bridges, buildings, pharmaceuticals, toothpaste, paint, paper, caulking, glass and antacids. It is truly without question that America benefits from our employees remaining on the job in safe working environments.”

Boone Quarries services Mid-Missouri, with locations in Columbia, Jefferson City and Sedalia. Boone serves small applications such as residential driveways to large scale projects including work with MoDOT, the University of Missouri, Whiteman Air Force Base and countless commercial projects throughout the region. Mid-Missouri Limestone services Callaway, Montgomery, and Osage counties.

The MLPA  board of directors also awarded five new Life Memberships and one new Honorary Member at the President’s Banquet
