Scott W. Parson received the 2020 President’s Award for Excellence from the Salt Lake Chamber in Utah. Parson is president of Staker Parson Materials & Construction and the Oldcastle Materials Mountain West Division, which is made up of 16 businesses in eight western states.
As a committed community leader, Parson is involved with the Utah Foundation and Hale Centre Theatre. He also helped establish the Weber State University Parson Construction Management Program and chaired the Industry Advisory Committee for many years. In 2004, he received the Distinguished Service Award from Weber State University and currently serves as a trustee of the university.
Parson is a past chair of the Salt Lake Chamber Board, past chair and founder of the Utah Transportation Coalition, and a strong supporter of Chamber programs from the Women & Business Conference and ATHENA Awards Luncheon and annual Washington, D.C., Trip to Leadership Utah. He currently serves on the chamber’s board of directors and co-chairs the Roadmap to Recovery Coalition. Parson shows by example how committed business leaders can make a difference in the community.
