Turner Mining Group Inks Contracts with Knife River, Lhoist

Turner Mining Group will be partnering with Knife River in Texas to provide greenfield development, plant location grading and settling pond construction.

“We have people and machines readily available, which will help Knife River avoid staffing challenges and ramp up quickly to meet deadlines for a large scope of work,” said Ben Schwanberg, business development manager. “Turner Mining Group is able to provide Knife River a more efficient contracting solution relative to other options.”

Turner Mining Group said it is ready to overcome any challenges associated with greenfield development on a fairly tight timeline. The project will require GPS accuracy to meet drawing designs and expertise around initial pit development.

Turner Mining Group will also be serving Lhoist North America, providing overburden removal and contract mining in Florida and Texas.

“Lhoist has contracted Turner Mining Group due to our high level of professionalism and our ability to service them nationwide as well as providing creative solutions to complex problems they encounter regularly,” noted Schwanberg. “Turner Mining Group will work through an initial six month proof of concepts with a goal of reducing mining costs.”

The projects require larger equipment to replace blasting cost and effectively extract the material, the company stated.
