CDE will launch the latest in its range of Combo all-in-one wet processing solutions at ConExpo-Con/Agg, March 10-14 in Las Vegas, booth S-5435.

Its modular approach means the Combo can be easily relocated closer to where concrete is required, resulting in significant cost savings in the transport of aggregates while also minimizing emissions associated with transporting the material.
Powered by sustainable all-electric drives, the Combo is an energy efficient system. This means materials producers can ensure their plant is running at optimum utilization, processing higher volumes of material for exceptional return on investment.
The Combo is modular and occupies a very small footprint. It arrives on site ready to plug and play for rapid on-site commissioning and easy relocation to other sites or remote locations.
Kevin Vallelly, director of engineering at CDE, said, “Time spent on site is a costly exercise, whereas the factory setting is a low-cost environment. As such, CDE’s single-chassis engineering and rapid assembly design results in significant installation cost savings as its commissioning requires fewer bodies, installation equipment and infrastructure.
“The footprint of the Combo is around 30% smaller than the traditional wet processing setup too,” Kevin explained. “This further reduces initial set-up costs as less site engineering – or minimal foundations – is required, including concrete pads and pipework.”

KPI-JCI – Booth #C-30336

KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens will exhibit at ConExpo-Con/Agg, March 10-14 in Las Vegas. The group will be exhibiting in the Astec Industries booth, C-30336.

Kolberg-Pioneer will be introducing its first hybrid FT4250CC horizontal shaft impactor plant equipped with a pre-screen. The new two-deck pre-screen minimizes the amount of undersized material that passes through the chamber, reducing wear costs and increasing the amount of final product by up to 30%. The hybrid power option allows producers to operate using either line power or diesel fuel for added flexibility.

KPI will also feature its 2742 Pioneer jaw crusher. The Pioneer series features unique shaft and bearing assembly designs for easy troubleshooting, reduced maintenance and a twenty percent greater capacity than competitive models.

Johnson Crushers International (JCI) is exhibiting its latest addition to the Kodiak Plus cone crusher line, the K350+. Astec Mobile Screens will be introducing its new Ranger line, comprised of compact, track-mounted units. Superior Industries, Inc. plans to debut its brand new Sentry Horizontal Shaft Impactor (HSI) at booth C-31389 during ConExpo-Con/Agg, March 10-14 in Las Vegas. It’s one of a dozen new products the company will introduce during the trade show.

Using a high speed impacting force, horizontal shaft impactors encourage stones to break along their natural cleavage lines. This generates cubically-shaped material, which is desirable for many of today’s applications.

Superior’s Sentry HSI is designed with a fully-fabricated open-style rotor, which produces low inertia energy for a lower cost of ownership. In addition, proper spacing inside the crusher’s chamber creates more area for processing larger feed sizes. Owners and operators will safely and easily complete maintenance functions of the HSI’s mainframe components via a hydraulically-controlled opening and closing feature.

Other design elements include commonly-shaped side liners, hydraulically-adjusted curtains, mainframe inspection doors and a replacement upper feed opening. One or two piece blow bars manufactured with two or four rotors are equipped with fixed clamping for best performance in hard rock applications.

Telsmith Inc., will launch and promote the Titan T200 Cone Crusher at ConExpo-Con/Agg, March 10-14 in Las Vegas, at booth C-30336.

The T200 cone is the newest model in the line-up of Titan series crushers that were originally introduced in 2012, which are designed to deliver maximum uptime availability while also minimizing maintenance costs.

The Tita T200 Cone Crusher utilizes 200 hp with a maximum feed size of 8-in. and throughout capacities from 110 up to 288 stph making the T200 ideal for secondary and tertiary circuit positions in mining, construction aggregates, industrial and recycling applications.

With a small footprint, The T200 can easily replace existing cone crushers yet provide high production with product size and shape that can meet any operation’s needs. VDG – Booth #B-93409

VDG (Van der Graaf) is the largest designer and manufacturer of high-efficiency drum motors to drive belt conveyors in the mining, aggregate and heavy equipment industries. The company will exhibit in the Bronze Hall, booth B-93409 at this year’s ConExpo-Con/Agg show in Las Vegas.

“The aggregate business continues its strong growth,” Matthew Lepp, heavy industry drive specialist, told Rock Products.”A surge in acceptance of drum motor technology over the past few years has caused several producers and OEMs in the industry to consider the use of them in their applications. Producers are focusing more on the cost/benefit relationship in purchasing and are diligently working to purchase equipment of the best long-term value to minimize costs over the life of the equipment. Therefore, the producers are getting a return on investment.”

The innovative VDG drum motor encloses all moving parts inside the drum, eliminating any externally mounted conveyor drive components. This streamlined design increases space utilization, production and safety in the harshest environments- while reducing maintenance, downtime, energy and costs. VDG Extreme Duty drum motors, including the new GrizzlyDrive, are available up to 500 hp and 42-in. diameter, and are manufactured in-house to ensure quality control, fast delivery and after sales service.

Conveyor users and conveyor manufacturers have accepted the drum motor as the most efficient way to drive belt conveyors. With no external motor and gearbox, the drum motor saves space, eliminates the need for scheduled maintenance and enhances operator safety.

However, the challenge has been the ease and ability to adjust belt speed as plant processing requirements change. This is achieved via a frequency inverter (VFD), which often is located in a control room some distance away from the conveyor drive electric motor.

The long cable connecting the VFD to the electric motor can impede motor performance and substantially reduce its life and reliability. Voltage attenuation, due to the long cable length, contributes to inconsistent power being delivered to the motor. Resulting high-voltage electrical spikes amplification in the motor windings can cause complete motor failure.

The general approach to overcome these issues is to substantially increase the dielectric strength value of the magnet wire used in the electric motor windings. Sinusoidal filters also are installed to condition the power going to the motor and filter high-voltage spikes caused by the pulse-simulated sine wave of the VFD.
Recently, Van der Graaf (VDG) began developing an advanced drum motor design with the VFD integrated into the motor junction box. The follow-up design to the built-in VFD is the development of an electric motor with even higher efficiency and additional capabilities.

On a standard electric motor, the rotor has to be magnetically induced by the stator. Using part of the magnetization produced by the stator windings to magnetically induce the rotor results in significant magnetic energy losses and reduces mechanical output. As a result, motor efficiency decreases.

With the VDG Intelligent Drum Motor (IntelliDrive) design, the rotor is magnetically self-induced by the use of permanent magnets installed on the rotor body. Lab test results show electrical savings of up to 72% vs. a conventional motor/gearbox conveyor drive.

The IntelliDrive requires a sensorless vector control to operate, and due to this requirement, must be used with the integrated VFD. The integrated VFD is EtherNet/IP and MODBUS compatible and enables communication with other plant equipment. It also can provide conveyor drive data feedback and control belt speed either remotely or directly at the drum motor. The combination of the rotor with permanent magnets and the integrated VFD, distinguishes the IntelliDrive from a standard drum motor.

The IntelliDrive simplifies the selection of belt speed without loss of torque or belt-pull, substantially increasing the efficiency and the life of the electric motor, further minimizing downtime and decreasing overall operating costs. With more than 30 exhibits, including 10 world and North American premieres and Wirtgen’s new large milling machines leading the pack, the Wirtgen Group is exhibiting at ConExpo-Con/Agg, March 10-14 in Las Vegas outdoors in the Silver Lot 1 at booth S-5419. The company’s slogan for the show is “Innovation. Performance. Partners.”  

Following its successful market launch, cold milling machine specialist Wirtgen is rounding out its new generation of large milling machines at the ConExpo-Con/Agg 2020. The W 250 Fi and W 220 Fi will make their world premiere at the show. The two W 210 Fi and W 207 Fi large milling machines as well as the W 380 CRi cold recycler, exhibited together as a recycling train, will make their North American debut.

Vögele will be unveiling its software-based application WITOS Paving Docu for the first time in North America. This innovative solution was designed specifically for contractors that want to capture and analyze more data that just the paving temperature – but don’t need the full scope of WITOS Paving Plus, which includes process optimization with integrated pre-planning.

Hamm is traveling to Las Vegas with three trade fair premieres. The specialist for asphalt and soil compaction will unveil its new HP 180i pneumatic tired roller, the DV+ 90i VV-S tandem roller and the H 20i C P remote-controlled compactor with padfoot drum, new thrust shield, and impressive gradeability.

The Wirtgen Group’s premieres will be topped off by two products on display from Kleemann, the specialist for mobile crushing and screening plants – namely the MOBICAT MC 120 Z PRO jaw crusher and the MOBISCREEN MS 952 EVO mobile screening plant.

To emphasize that it is a part of John Deere and to highlight the synergies across the entire product range, at its trade show booth the Wirtgen Group will exhibit a John Deere 824L wheel loader filling the MS 952 EVO mobile screening plant from Kleemann. At John Deere’s booth (N 12525, located in the North Hall), trade show visitors will be able to see the Kleemann MOBICONE MCO 11 PRO cone crusher in combination with the 300G LC excavator from John Deere.
