April 24, 2019 – If you do not get the Harbor Freight tool catalog in the mail, you are probably a minority. Heck, 10 million people get it each month, with many using the always available 20% off coupon, and free gift coupons. I know I have about a dozen of those little flashlights they give away all over the house. Kudos to Harbor Freight for its desire to support skilled trades education in American public high schools via to the creation of the annual Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence. The company recently awarded more than $1 million in prizes to high school skilled trades teachers and their high schools across the country, and they want to identify more teachers so they can reward yet another $1 million in prizes. Three first-place winners receive $100,000, and 15 second-place winners receive $50,000, with the awards divided between the teacher and the school’s skilled trades program. Excellent work, Harbor Freight.
