Hoffman Equipment expanded its retail territory in the Northeast with the acquisition of Penn-Jersey Machinery’s assets. The Piscataway, N.J.-based dealer will take over Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) distribution in the territories previously covered by Penn-Jersey Machinery and Malvese Equipment.

Hoffman will assume Penn-Jersey’s three locations in Deptford and Middlesex, N.J., and Lionville, Pa., adding to Hoffman’s existing locations in New Jersey and New York. To ensure a smooth transition for Volvo CE customers, all current Penn-Jersey staff will be offered employment within the new Hoffman locations.

“We have built a strong reputation of providing excellent customer support of the different brands of equipment that we carry. We’re proud to upgrade our product offering through the addition of Volvo CE’s premium construction equipment to our portfolio,” said Tim Watters, CEO of Hoffman. “We will continue to serve our existing customers, as well as the new Volvo CE customers with the best products and support in the market.”

Stephen Roy, president of Volvo CE Americas, reiterated that Volvo CE will continue to update its distribution by bringing the best dealers in North America into its network while ensuring current dealers provide the highest uptimes in the industry.

“Hoffman is a great example of the distribution partner that our customers want to deal with. It has built strong relationships with its customers and knows the specific needs and preferences of the region very well. We’re excited about this partnership,” Roy commented. “Hoffman will play a key role in helping us achieve our strategic goals in North America: to be a unique solution provider while ensuring the highest uptime in the industry”.
