Through extensive research and development, Best Blasting Mats manufactures three styles of blasting mats from recycled passenger and light truck (PLT) or medium truck (MT) tires.
Traditional woven blasting mats:
- Time proven, very flexible and economical.
- Constructed of whole used PLT tire segments.
- Tightly woven together under compression using ¾-in., quality heavy-duty steel wire rope fastened together with heavy-duty, ¾-in. forged clamps and 3/8-in. flat bar end plates.
- Mats are 1 ft. thick and available in numerous widths and lengths.
- Large 12-in. OD lifting ring on each end.
- Weight is 35 lb. per sq. ft.
LT mats (flat PLT tread construction):
- Same design and durability as Ultramat, but 8 lb. per sq. ft. lighter.
- Constructed of fresh, used light truck (LT) tire treads.
- Tightly secured together under compression using new ¾-in., heavy-duty steel wire rope fastened together with heavy-duty, ¾-in. forged clamps and 3/8-in. steel end plates.
- Large 12-in. OD lifting ring on each end.
- Mats are 8 in. thick and available in numerous widths and lengths.
- Weight is approx. 42 lb. per sq. ft., i.e. 10- x 15-ft. mat = 5,700 lb.
- Excellent blast cover over uneven ground, large construction projects – highway, pipelines, quarries, open pit mining.
- Can also used for temporary road mats in rugged terrain, unstable ground and sensitive environment landscapes.
Ultra mats (flat MT tread construction):
- Constructed of fresh, used semi-truck (MT) tire treads.
- Tightly secured together under compression using new ¾-in. heavy-duty steel wire rope, fastened together with heavy-duty, ¾-in. forged clamps and 3/8-in. steel end plates.
- Large 12-in. OD lifting ring on each end.
- Mats are 10 in. thick and available in numerous widths and lengths.
- Weight is approx. 50 lb. per sq. ft., i.e. 10- x 15-ft. mat = 7,500 lb.
- Excellent blast cover over uneven ground, large construction projects – highway, pipelines, quarries, open pit mining.
- Can also be used for temporary road mats for large mobile forestry, oil or mining equipment operating in rugged terrain, unstable ground and sensitive environment landscapes.
