The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) released a listing of the top 20 U.S. construction sand and gravel producers. This new listing, based on 2016 production, is the most current information available, said USGS Commodity Specialist Jason Willett.
The combined production of the top 20 companies decreased slightly from the agency’s previous ranking, to 269 million metric tons (Mt) (30 percent of the national total). The combined production of the top 100 companies was 426 Mt (48 percent of the national total).
The top 20 are:
