New Plant to Be Built in Texas

Texas Frac LLC, a Wisconsin-based company, is constructing a sand plant on 1,400 acres of near Saint Jo, Texas. Construction is planned to start next month, according to The Gainesville Daily Register

The plant will be capable of producing processed sand for the foundry, glass, construction and frac sand markets. Employing at least 50 workers, Texas Frac said they plan to staff their Saint Jo operation with local workers. New jobs to the community will include plant operators and truck drivers, according to the company.

“As a family business, our employees are like family. We truly see them as an extension of our own,” owner Pat McConnell told the newspaper. “Our trucking company, the oldest of our operations, has an impressive tenure among our employees. Our turnover is extremely low, and many of our employees have been with us 10, 15, even 25 years plus.”

Texas Frac is a family business, owned by the McConnell family in Green Lake, Wis. In addition to the sand company, the family owns a trucking company, rail transload company and the local grocery store in Green Lake.

The McConnells started their family business nearly 35 years ago with just three employees. Now with Texas Frac they will employ more than 250 employees.
Most of their operations are in smaller, rural areas.

“If the community will be receptive of us, we hope to get involved here,” McConnell said. “We tend to contribute where our employees have interest, whether it’s the local fire department or activity clubs.”
