NSSGA’s Johnson Pens Letter to Trump

National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) President and CEO Michael W. Johnson penned a letter to incoming President Donald Trump. It reads:

Dear Mr. President-Elect:

On the eve of your inauguration, I offer congratulations on behalf of the more than 100,000 men and women in the stone, sand and gravel (or “aggregates”) sector who stand ready to work with you and your administration.

NSSGA is the leading voice and advocate for the aggregates industry. Our members – stone, sand and gravel producers, and the equipment manufacturers and service providers who support them – are responsible for the essential raw materials found in every home, building, road, bridge and public works project. Our members represent more than 90 percent of the crushed stone and 70 percent of the sand and gravel produced annually in the United States.

Many aggregates businesses are multigenerational, family-owned companies that helped build our Interstate Highway System, once considered the envy of the world. Making America Great Again begins by making our infrastructure great again. Our industry is ready to rebuild our country’s highways, bridges and roads. As such, we support your agenda to invest $1 trillion in our infrastructure and roll back burdensome regulations. An efficient and modern transportation system is a catalyst for economic growth and improving the quality of life for all Americans.

As a customer of many of our member companies, you know that anything of significance built in this country begins with a rock.

Please let me know if we can be of service to your administration.

Sincerely,

Michael W. Johnson
