Terex Trucks Launches First of Gen10 Articulated Haulers

TEREX

Terex Trucks unveiled its new Generation 10 articulated hauler at the world’s largest construction event, bauma. The company attended the event for the first time since becoming a standalone brand following its acquisition by Volvo Construction Equipment – and its message was loud and clear that investment in its products is the main focus. The Generation 10 range is the result of a major ongoing product renewal program, which will see even more new models launched later in the year.

The first of these news models, the 38-ton TA400, made a big statement at the Terex Trucks exhibit. As the largest articulated dump truck in the range, the TA400 is designed to offer customers increased performance and lower operational costs. Built to last, the ‘Gen 10’ model as it is known, boasts increased durability and protection of truck components, including upgraded hydraulic hoses, electrical interfaces, operator environment and brake pipes.

The new machine features magnetic suction filters, which reduce the risk of contaminants entering the system. It also benefits from longer brake component lifecycles as it’s supported by an electronic activated exhaust brake and a six-stage modulating transmission retarder.

Adapting to the needs of customers to provide reduced ownership cost, Terex Trucks has removed the need for a costly Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and has improved over-pivot hose routing and retention for better performance in severe worksite conditions. Additionally, investments have been made to enhance operator comfort, with a new high-performance air-conditioning system and wide-platform step access. Operators will also experience a smoother ride, thanks to cushioned stops on the steering cylinders.

The TA400 will be available to North America in September.

Keeping clients at the forefront of its campaign, the brand’s presentation at bauma also focused on aftermarket services as it announced an increase in the global availability of Factory-Approved parts, designed by the same engineers who create the machines for maximum productivity. The Scotland-headquartered company is also investing in a strengthened and expanded distribution network, meaning parts are available where and when required, coupled with the expansion of field support staff to continue its commitment of delivering service excellence.

Speaking about the success of the exhibition, which attracted 580,000 visitors from 200 countries, Terex Trucks’ Director and General Manager Paul Douglas said, “bauma 2016 was incredible and proved to be the perfect platform to unveil the new TA400 ADT as well as our plans for the future. Visitors to bauma came from far and wide, so it was also a great opportunity for us to talk to our customers about the solutions we have implemented in their regions, such as our new warranty scheme in North America and Canada, which came as a direct result of customer feedback. The overall response surrounding the machines was great, which is even more exciting for the company, as later this year and next year we will release further models from our new generation of articulated haulers.”
