Carmeuse Names New Kilns After Late COO

On May 10, 2016, the two new vertical kilns installed at Carmeuse Winchester were dedicated in honor of Bruce Routhieaux, the company’s COO who passed away in January.

Employees from Carmeuse Winchester and several members of the Carmeuse Leadership Team, including CEO Yves Willems, joined members of Routhieaux’s family in the plant’s control room for the dedication ceremony.

The ceremony setting included a flag for Bruce’s favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, signed by the Winchester employees. Individuals from the dedication ceremony were then invited to Clear Brook Park for a luncheon complete with tailgate-style food and Routhieaux’s favorite food, M&Ms.

The “Bruce Routhieaux” kilns are the first vertical kilns to be built in the United States by Carmeuse. The two QualiCal vertical lime kilns incorporate advanced control technologies and parallel flow heating to maximize efficiency.

Carmeuse North America has 28 plants that supply and serve most of the United States and Eastern Canada.
