Young Leaders Meeting to Feature Big-Name Speakers

The National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association has announced speakers for the NSSGA 2016 Young Leaders Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas, including some of the industry’s top executives.

Mark Helm

Mark Helm is the president and CEO of Dolese Bros. Co., based in Oklahoma City, Okla. His experience spans 30 years in construction materials, including crushed stone, sand, gravel, ready mixed concrete, block and asphalt. He has worked for a number of different public and private companies, and held positions in engineering, technical services, operations management, business development and sales until increasing responsibility to his current position.

Hal F. Williford Jr. assumed the presidency of Memphis Stone and Gravel Co. in 2003. Memphis Stone is a locally owned and operated aggregate supplier to Memphis and North Mississippi. In business since 1910, Memphis Stone and Gravel Co. has earned a reputation for supplying outstanding construction materials to the markets it serves. The company works to protect the lands on which it mines all the while restoring resources to productive and beautiful uses after mining. Williford started with the Lehman-Roberts Co. in 1985 as a quality control technician where he rose to become manager of materials and quality control in 1990. He was named vice-president of Lehman-Roberts Co. and Memphis Stone and Gravel Co. in 1997. He has served on the board of directors for both companies since 2003.

Karl H. Watson Jr. serves as the president of Cemex USA. Prior to his current role, he served as regional president of the East Region as well as president of Rinker Materials West, the chief executive of Ready-Mix in Australia and vice president of Florida Materials. Watson is a past chairman of the Florida Concrete & Products Association and the National Ready-Mix Concrete Association. He is currently serving as the vice chairman of the Portland Cement Association.

Mike Hinrichsen retired from Caterpillar in January 2016 after 37 years of service. The majority of his career has been working with Caterpillar dealers and customers who operate across the Americas and globally. Over his career, Hinrichsen held a variety of different positions within Caterpillar including postings in Geneva, Switzerland (twice), London, Kuwait, Dubai, North Carolina, Canada and Peoria. He has traveled globally throughout his career at Caterpillar. Since 2002 Hinrichsen has represented Caterpillar within the industry and NSSGA serving on multiple committees, AGG1, several task forces, Rockpac Trustee and chairman of the M&S executive board.

Jon Morrish is regional president North America South for Lehigh Hanson. His employment history also includes being the managing director, cement, Hanson UK, and:

Former U.S. Navy SEAL Curt Cronin will give a presentation on teamwork during the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) Young Leaders luncheon at NSSGA’s Annual Convention and AGG1 Academy & Expo.

The luncheon is being sponsored by Rock Products. It will take place Tuesday March 22 at 12:00 pm at the Music City Center. “We are proud to once again sponsor the Young Leaders Luncheon,” said Rock Products Editor Mark Kuhar. “I am certain Mr. Cronin will inspire our Young Leaders with his positive message.”
