Jan. 21, 2016 – Does your state rock? How much? A new map from the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) shows how much aggregate is produced in each state. It also shows the number of mines and people it takes to produce these essential building materials. “It has been estimated that every American will need about 1.18 million pounds of stone, sand and gravel in their lifetimes,” said Michael W. Johnson, NSSGA president. The aggregates map shows the impact on jobs and resources these operations have by producing the building blocks of our infrastructure at http://www.nssga.org/education/research-map. This is a great resource to use in your community relations efforts.
