Frac Sand Insider Moves to Wisconsin

Mining Media International (MMI) and Rock Products magazine are pleased to announce that the highly successful Frac Sand Insider conference is moving to Wisconsin.

The event will take place May 10-11, 2016, at the LaCrosse Center in LaCrosse, Wis. The first two Frac Sand Insider events took place in Pittsburgh.

“We are bringing the show to the heart of the frac sand industry, which we believe will be a huge benefit for attendees and exhibitors alike,” said MMI President Peter Johnson.

With a renewed look at refracking old wells, developing incomplete wells, and increased per-well sand usage, frac sand production is poised to gear up again after the downturn that followed the oil price crash. Producers are still seeking to develop new deposits and maximize existing operations.

“We think Frac Sand Insider is in the right place at the right time,” said Show Director Tim Fearney. “Holding the event in Wisconsin will give manufacturers and consultants the chance to meet directly with decision-makers from both Wisconsin and Minnesota – ground zero for national frac sand production.”

The educational program for the show will focus on equipment and technology, and operational efficiency. But it will also be enhanced by the move to Wisconsin. “We will be developing a special track focused on the often-contentious relationship between frac sand producers, local governments and the community,” said Rock Products Editor Mark Kuhar. “I think we have a golden opportunity to help the industry find common ground and greater understanding in the very communities where they operate every day.”

Booth sales and sponsorships for the event will be handled by Rock Products Sales Director Sean Carr and Sales Manager Kyle Nichol.
