In response to a significant backlog of secured contract work on both the heavy civil contracting and materials segments of its business platform, H&K Group, Inc. (H&K) and The H&K Group family of companies held an extremely successful, multi-divisional job fair on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
Hosted at the company’s expansive Materials Division facility in Skippack, Pa., The H&K Group’s job fair enabled hiring managers to conduct same day interviews to fill numerous full-time positions in both the trades and skilled/technical employment levels.
In attendance at the Job Fair were representatives from the following contracting divisions or affiliates: Blooming Glen Contractors Inc., Landis C. Deck & Sons Site Contractors, Lehigh Valley Site Contractors, Rahns Construction Material Co., Reading Site Contractors, Stone Express, Terra Structures, and the Water & Wastewater Services Division.
To fill the company’s growing need for mechanics and quality control (QC) technicians, representatives from H&K’s in-house Maintenance and QC Departments were also on hand to conduct same-day interviews.
The H&K Group announced that hiring managers filled 50 key positions on March 7th, along with an additional 70 plus applicants on tap for follow-up interviews. Key positions have been filled in the following areas: road mechanics, crusher mechanics, operators, general laborers, foremen and numerous (CDL) triaxle drivers.
Commenting on The H&K Group’s March 7th Job Fair outcome, H&K’s Chief Operating Officer, James T. Haines, indicated, “We are absolutely thrilled with the turn out and quality of the applicants who attended our job fair last Saturday (March 7th) and these new hires are a welcomed addition to our employee family. Our strong backlog of shovel-ready project work, coupled with projections for significant work in the bidding pipeline through mid-year suggests a busy and prosperous year for all of us here at The H&K Group.”
