June 18, 2014 – Superior Industries Inc., named John Bennington as product manager for its new washing and classifying product line. Earlier this month, the Minnesota-based manufacturer announced its acquisition of GreyStone Inc., a builder of washing, classifying and dewatering solutions serving the construction aggregates industry. The new product line will be labeled under the Superior brand name.
Bennington joins Superior after most recently holding the title of district manager at Metso, Before Metso, he was vice president and general manager for then GreyStone Inc. There, Bennington’s responsibilities included budget development, sales projections, market development, dealer relations, product development and manufacturing cost control.
During his 14 years with the company, he became well respected throughout the industry for his great technical knowledge about sand and mineral processing techniques.
Before starting at GreyStone in 1997, Bennington was employed as a sales engineer at Eagle Iron Works and a Quality Control Technician for the Hiland Corp. He is listed as an inventor on a patent for a new dewatering machine that allows dewatering to moisture content as low as 8 percent by weight. Bennington is a past chairman of the board for the National Stone, Sand, and Gravel Association’s Manufacturers and Services Division.
