March 5, 2014 – At the NSSGA convention, Vulcan Materials President and CEO Don James received the Barry K. Wendt Award. James used the occasion of his award to assail the extreme right and left wings of the political spectrum for views that are detrimental to the national economy and construction economy as well. He called for common sense legislation to fund highway construction and stressed the importance of a new Highway Bill to the growth of the industry.
