Komatsu recently announced the introduction of its new EPA-certified Tier 4 Final diesel engines, built on the company’s progressive engineering improvements to
reduce emissions. The Tier 4 Final technology will be integrated into Komatsu America’s construction and mining engines ranging in size from 3.3 to 46 liters, and started commercial production in January. New regulations effective in 2014 require the reduction of NOx emissions to one-tenth or below levels required by preceding regulations. Komatsu’s Tier 4 Final solution builds on proven and reliable technologies utilized for Tier 4 Interim engines. Examples of these Komatsu-developed technologies include: next-generation high-pressure common rail fuel injection (HPCR) system; high-efficiency exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system; Komatsu Variable Geometry Turbocharger (KVGT); and Komatsu Diesel Particulate Filter (KDPF).

Leading Edge Attachments IncLeading Edge Attachments Inc.
Booth C-31040
Company offers a newer version of the patent-pending “STAG” Bucket – a new style, high penetration bucket utilizing the “Staggered Tooth” technology. The STAG bucket design allows the operator to focus the excavator’s full breakout force on one tooth at a time because the front leading edge is steeped and angled. This new version positions the first tooth closer to the center of the bucket, each successive tooth alternating back and forth so that each tooth hits the material sequentially. Angled edge configurations are available that have one of the corner teeth penetrating first, but the teeth are still staggered. Available for any excavator from 11,000 to 220,000 lb.
