Vulcan Materials Co. announced senior management changes to be effective Jan. 1, 2014. The company will promote Tom Hill from the position of senior vice president of its south region to executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company.
John McPherson was promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer. Previously, McPherson served as the senior vice president of Vulcan’s east region.
In addition, Danny Shepherd took the position of vice chairman of the company while, Dan Sansone will assume the role of the executive vice president-strategy.
Vulcan Materials recently released its third-quarter report, and net sales increased $88 million, or 13 percent, versus the prior year’s third quarter. Gross profit improved $32 million, or 25 percent, from the prior year.
