October 28, 2013 – The Association of Equipment Manufacturers(AEM) announced all domestic policy advocacy efforts on behalf of the equipment manufacturing industry will now be integrated under the I Make America banner. I Make America began as a national grassroots campaign and now has nearly 30,000 supporters across the country that advocate to dramatically increase jobs for America’s equipment manufacturers.

Housing Predicted to Lead Construction Growth in 2014
McGraw Hill Construction, part of McGraw Hill Financial, released its 2014 Dodge Construction Outlook, a mainstay in construction industry forecasting and business planning. The report predicts that total U.S. construction starts for 2014 will rise 9 percent to $555.3 billion, higher than the 5 percent increase to $508 billion estimated for 2013.

The U.S. Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce reported that construction spending during August 2013 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $915.1 billion, 0.6 percent (±2.1 percent) above the revised July estimate of $909.4 billion. The August figure is 7.1 percent (±2.3 percent) above the August 2012 estimate of $854.0 billion.
