Go West for the Best

By Mark S. Kuhar

Eugene, Ore., is about as far West as you can go without falling in the Pacific Ocean. It was there that KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens hosted more than 60 authorized North American dealers at its annual National Dealer Conference.

Each year, KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens hold the event either at its own Yankton, S.D., facility, or in another location around the country. This year they launched seven new pieces of equipment, including the new generation SuperStacker, the GT125 Jaw Crusher, the GT145S Screen Plant, the GT165DF Screen Plant, the Kodiak Plus K500+ Cone Crusher, the Series 9000 De-Watering Screen and the High Frequency Screen for the industrial sands market.

In addition to its new product launches, KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens also unveiled its new dealer-only app called “IronCaddy,” which enables authorized dealers to access information about its five product lines, as well as media offerings. Each dealership received a new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 to use for sales support and education.

They also released its new company video, which focuses on the company’s history, longevity and commitment to quality and innovation.

While the introduction of new products and educational sessions for dealers are a main part of the event, the golf tournament is equally as important. This year, the winning foursome was anchored by Joe Vig, Astec Group president and Rock Products’ Sales Director Sean Carr, along with two KPI-JCI dealers, Rod McMahon of Murrysville Equipment in Pittsburgh and Tom Zimmer Jr. of Tri-State Equipment of Wyoming and Montana.

I’d yell “Fore!” but they are number one.
