Flexco Receives Award

August 15, 2013 – The University of Illinois, Business Innovation Services (BIS) recently presented the 2013 “Manufacturing Excellence Award” to Flexco. Several local representatives were on hand to present Flexco with the award, including Director of State Relations Dianna Barrows; U.S. Representative Bill Foster; Deputy Director of The Employment and Training Program for the  Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Therese McMahon; DCEO Director Adam Pollet; State Senator Christine Radogno; and State Representative Ron Sandack.

Flexco was selected to receive the award after being evaluated in the following categories:  Leadership and Vision; Employee Involvement and Teamwork; Sales Growth; Profitability; Continual Quality Improvement; Customer and Supplier Relations; Innovation and New Product Development; Export Capability and Growth; Productivity, Efficiency and Effectiveness; Global Competitiveness While Paying Good Salaries; Inventory Management – Cost Control; Manufacturing Agility and Responsiveness; Reward and Recognition-Respect for Employees; Adaptability to Change and Challenges; and Safety. “Flexco received high scores in all 15 categories used to evaluate potential winners,” said Mary Rose Hennessy, executive director of U of I BIS. “We have worked with Flexco since 1987 providing a wide array of training programs, most recently export assistance. They are committed to continuous improvement and have adapted to the challenges of the global marketplace through innovation, outstanding business practices and exemplary employee involvement.”
