Atlanta Environmental Law Firms Combine

Two of Atlanta’s leading environmental law firms are joining forces to form Kazmarek Mowrey Cloud Laseter LLP (KMCL). With operations beginning June 1, Atlanta-based KMCL combines the practices of Kazmarek Geiger & Laseter (KGL) and Mowrey Meezan Coddington Cloud (M2C2). KMCL also has a Washington, D.C. office.

The combination makes KMCL a unique law firm in the Southeast, focusing exclusively on environmental and energy issues. The firm offers enhanced representation throughout the United States to clients facing complex environmental and energy-related issues. KMCL’s clients include Fortune 100 companies, mid-sized businesses and industries, utilities and local governments. The new firm provides top-tier sophistication, expertise and depth on challenging environmental issues facing clients, using a cost-effective and client-focused “boutique” law firm platform.

“We are very pleased to join forces with lawyers who share our commitment to providing the very highest level of representation in the complex field of environmental law,” said founding partner E.A. “Skip” Kazmarek. “We all share a common core value that high quality, efficient client service is our top priority.”

Noting the combined practices boast lawyers with nearly 200 years of combined experience with the most sophisticated environmental matters, Kazmarek added that “the true beneficiaries of this combination will be both firms’ clients.”

“Our dedication to excellence and client value won’t change,” said founding partner Robert Mowrey, “but we are increasing our depth. We provide clients the sophistication of a ‘big law firm’ practice but on a client-focused, cost-effective platform, and we can always bring the right resources to bear on any environmental problem.”

M2C2 and KGL were both created by groups of partners with deep experience at major law firms who concluded that a boutique platform was far better for their clients than their prior “big law” settings. Attorneys at the merged firm are experienced in every sub-discipline of environmental practice.

Both KGL and M2C2 were listed as first tier environmental practices in the recently published U.S. News – Best Lawyers® Best Law Firms, and both have been recognized since their inception in Chambers USA – Leading Business Lawyers. Each partner of the combined firm also has individually been recognized in both publications, as well as in other law firm surveys such as Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers.
