Sandvik's Rammer Line of Hydraulic Breakers

Article Tools

As distributor for Sandvik's Rammer line of hydraulic breakers in North America, Allied announced in February that it will cooperate with the Swedish equipment manufacturer to implement a two-year program to rebrand its products under the single name Sandvik. As part of the program, Rammer hydraulic impact hammers, including the in-Series, m-Series, S-Series, E-Series and G-Series, will not undergo technical changes, but will display cosmetic changes in paint, logo design and nomenclature. The Rammer name, which has been an established brand in the industry since 1978, will be phased out. The distribution network, including sales and service organizations, will remain the same.

Sandvik will apply a new numbering system, also officially introduced at bauma, which uses a combination of letters and numbers to link breaker product line, product family, previous nomenclature and recommended carrier weight in metric tons. For example, the Rammer E 64 becomes the Sandvik BR 2064. The BR stands for Breakers Rammer; the 20 for the recommended 20-metric-ton carrier operating weight; and the 64 for the existing product name. The table on page 43 shows the old and new nomenclature for the Rammer breaker lines. Sandvik
